Huge congratulations to our Year 12 student Eduard, who has been selected for the National Youth Orchestra, celebrated as the world’s best teenage orchestra.
With competition for places highly contested, Eduard was just one of ten double bass selected from across the whole country. The orchestra meet regularly throughout the year to rehearse, culminating in a performance at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms. The Proms performance was a spectacular event and the repertoire included the music from Mahler, Wagner and Missy Mazzioli. You can find the link to the performance here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m002203g/bbc-proms-2024-nyo-plays-mahlers-first-at-the-proms
We are proud of Eduard who has been at Central Foundation since Year 7, and has been involved in all aspects of our Music School during his time here. Eduard practices double bass every day and has taken part in a variety of school performances and competitions.
