CFBS students celebrate excellent GCSE results

Central Foundation students are celebrating an excellent set of GCSE results.

Zein achieved 11 Grade 9s and will go on to study A-Level Computer Science, Maths, Further Maths, and Physics at Central Foundation Boys’ School Sixth Form.

Over a third of all grades were awarded at grade 7 or higher.

Year 11 students with Councillor Valerie Bossman-Quarshie. (Left to Right): Matt, Jasper, Zein, Isaac and Dawud  collectively achieved 31 Grade 9s and 18 Grade 8s.

The school has continued its tradition of excellent results in English and maths with 68% of students achieving a grade 5 or higher in both English and maths.

This is an excellent set of exam results. My congratulations to the students for all that they have achieved. These results are a consequence of the students’ persistence, academic curiosity and sheer hard work. Not only have they achieved exceptional exam outcomes, but they have contributed so much to our school and in turn grown as individuals through their engagement across our arts, sports and community programmes. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all our staff for their hard work, commitment and effort over the last five years, which has supported these outcomes. I know that the students will all continue to excel and make a positive impact as they move on the next stage of their lives.

Jamie Brownhill, Headteacher
