CFBS Hosts Isaac Nartey for a Lunchtime Lecture

On Wednesday 29th April, Central Foundation hosted a Speakers for Schools talk by Futures For All, this is a charity giving state schools access to talks from today’s leading professionals and academics.

Isaac Nartey presented to 80 of our students, a combination of sixth formers and Year 9 students. Isaac is Assistant Commissioner, Sky UK. He is a poet, theatre and tv content creator. At just 19 years old he became a theatre producer and was awarded with a national award at 21. In 2020 He co-created the UK’s first spoken TV series Life and Rhymes hosted by the late Benjamin Zephaniah. The show was awarded with a BAFTA for best entertainment. Isaac brought this BAFTA award to CFBS and it was passed around our audience, who knew BAFTAs were quite so heavy?!

Our students gained a lot of valuable insights from Isaac who really emphasised the importance of adaptability, authenticity and collaboration in getting yourself to where you want to be. He performed his poetry with passion and answered our students’ questions with openness and integrity. We feel very privileged to have hosted him in our Hearn Centre.
