Central Foundation recently made a resounding mark at the highly anticipated Simmonds Cup, an indoor athletics competition held at the esteemed Lee Valley sports complex on Wednesday 24th January. With numerous top London schools in attendance, our Year 7, Year 8, and Year 9 teams demonstrated exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout the event.
A trio of our remarkable athletes etched their names into the school record books with stellar performances in the 60m races. Prince (Year 7), Zac (Year 8), and Malakai (Year 9) not only secured school records in their respective categories but also clinched impressive podium finishes. Prince and Zac claimed 1st place in their races, while Malakai secured a commendable 3rd place.
Adding to the triumph, the Year 7 200m relay team seized the gold medal, showcasing exceptional teamwork and coordination. Their victory is a testament to the dedication and training they put into refining their skills.
In the overall team standings, Central Foundation Boys’ School emerged as a force to be reckoned with. The Year 7 team secured a commendable 3rd place, highlighting the promising talent within this age group. The Year 8 team secured a respectable 5th place, while the Year 9 team displayed their prowess with a solid 7th place finish. Considering the fierce competition with over 15 other schools participating, these results are truly commendable and a source of immense pride for our school.
