On the week before Remembrance Sunday, we marked Remembrance day with special Remembrance assemblies for each year group. We reflected on the historical significance of this date and paid our respect to victims of the World Wars as well as current world conflicts in Palestine and Ukraine.
We remembered the 112 students from our own school who died during WWI and the 19 students who died during WW2. Students from different year groups read poems such as ‘Poppies’ by Jane Weir and ‘In Flanders Field’ by John McCrae.
The talented CFBS String Ensemble played ‘On the Nature of Daylight’ by Max Richter.
