Celebration of Culture Event: A Showcase of Diversity and Talent

Our school recently hosted its annual Celebration of Culture event, highlighting the diversity and academic strength of our community. The event featured a bake sale, university challenge quizzes, a talent show, and more, bringing together students, parents, and staff over several days.

The bake sale, a key part of the event, featured baked goods donated by the students and their families. Each day, a different year group hosted the sale. The treats represented various cultures, turning the bake sale into a global culinary experience. Families shared stories and traditions behind their offerings, fostering understanding and appreciation among attendees.

The university challenge quizzes for Years 7, 9, and 10 celebrated the school’s academic culture. Teams competed in a range of topics, showcasing their knowledge and quick thinking. The quizzes were a fun and engaging way to celebrate learning.

Year 8 students held a talent show, featuring diverse performances that highlighted their skills and creativity. Year 12 students held their own sale in conjunction with Year 8, showcasing teamwork and community spirit.

A special mention goes to the Year 12 captains who supported the lower school in running their snack sales. Their leadership and dedication were crucial in ensuring the events’ success, setting a great example for their peers.

A total of £586.37 was raised for our chosen charity, UNICEF.

The Celebration of Culture event was a success, bringing together our school community in a celebration of diversity, talent, and academic excellence. We look forward to continuing this tradition next year.
