Our partnership with Sage Publishing and Bayes Business School (City St George’s University) delivered a second successful year of our project, Business Education in the Community. This initiative brings together three key elements of a young person’s career journey, secondary and tertiary education and the commercial sector, and aspires to support our students academic, professional and personal development.
Across three days our Business A level students engaged with university lecturers from Bayes Business School and professionals from Sage Publishing and were introduced to how key topics in their current curriculum is treated in both the higher education and professional environments.
Students developed academic and essential skills throughout the programme, stretching their educational experience and grounding theory into practice within the world of work.
To finish off the week, students presented one of Sage’s case studies to Simon Parker, Director for Responsible Management Education and Outreach at Bayes Business School, and Matthew Waters, Senior Publisher at Sage Publishing. Students found this experience both challenging and rewarding, successfully working in groups to present a polished and well-thought final product that explored these cases in more depth.
