On Wednesday 15th of April, Central Foundation’s Year 12 students on the Access Project visited the University of Bath for an inspiring and informative campus experience. The day began with a guided campus tour, giving students a real sense of university life and the facilities available at Bath.
Students then took part in a series of engaging academic taster lectures in Civil Engineering & Architecture and Psychology. These sessions were particularly well received, offering an insight into the style of teaching at university level while showcasing how these subjects are studied in practice.
The visit also included an insightful Q&A session with current student ambassadors, where students asked thoughtful questions about academic entry requirements, effective revision techniques, student life, and accommodation options. Hearing first‑hand experiences helped to demystify university life and made higher education feel more accessible.

In addition, students learned about the range of scholarships and summer residential programmes offered by the University of Bath. These opportunities provide an excellent chance for students to experience university life first‑hand and were especially valuable in helping them consider their future pathways with greater confidence.
Overall, the trip was an extremely positive and motivating experience, giving students greater clarity about university study and helping to raise their aspirations.
