On Friday 21st November, parents, prize winners, the school community came together for our 158th Founder’s Day, our annual prize giving ceremony to celebrate the school’s founder, Reverend William Rogers, and the achievements of its students.

This was a special event where over 400 prizes were awarded to the CFBS students in every year group, for most progress, highest attainment in specific subjects or for demonstrating our core values: be your best, be a learner, be respectful and kind, be brave.

A number of special awards were presented to both current and past students.
The John Boston Award for exceptional attainment which went to Joe in Y10, Zein in Y12, and Oliver who have recently left our sixth form. The Montcalm Award for achievement in vocational learning went to Alexander who has also completed his sixth form studies at CFBS.
The Bendy Scholarship was awarded to Oliver and Zhandos, the top performing STEM A Level students who went on to study mathematics at university this September. The Dr Beck Scholarship for exceptional progress was awarded to Yves (Y10), Yusef (Y12) and Mathias.
The Clive Arding Award and the Clark/Heath Award, donated by the Central Foundation Schools of London, went to Elizabeth and Kelvin, both Year 13 students.
Mr Geoffrey Jayson, a former CFBS pupil, donated two university scholarships in memory of his late family members all of whom benefited from being pupils at the school. The Geoffrey Jayson Scholarship was awarded to two Year 13 students Farouk and Kristian.

There were speeches from the headteacher, school captain, chair of governors and the guest speaker, Mr Romain Muhammad, a Central Foundation alumnus, an award-winning people & culture leader, diversity and inclusion expert, leadership coach, public speaker, and author.

Romain spoke about his journey both during and after his time at CFBS, including the challenges he overcame and opportunities he found from his experiences. It was inspirational to our current students to hear from a successful alumnus of the school.
The ceremony was followed by a reception for the prize winners, parents, carers, guests and school staff.
