The Arts

The Art, Drama and Music departments run extensive extra-curricular activities and organise annual showcases of talent.

As well as Art being taught on the curriculum, there is also a weekly Art Club. Pupils regularly work with local galleries who exhibit their work, such as the Cubitt Gallery. Students are taken to art galleries, such as the National Gallery, further gaining from the school’s links within the arts. Every Summer the school hosts the Art & Technology Exhibition, showcasing the previous year’s work in both disciplines for parents and peers to see.

Students are taken to local and West End theatre productions. Recently students have been to see many acclaimed Almeida Theatre productions in Islington before their extended runs have taken them to the West End. We have participated in the Shakespeare in Schools Festival, which finished with the pupils performing at the Islington Pleasance Theatre. A number of productions are performed to parents throughout the academic year.

As well as music lessons in the regular curriculum, Music School meets for breakfast every day for practice, offering a variety of clubs depending on the day. Free lessons are provided in a number of instruments and the school boasts a junior and senior choir alongside its string and woodwind ensembles. We have links with the London Symphony Orchestra, through which pupils have performed at the Barbican Centre.
