The Art, Drama and Music departments run extensive extra-curricular activities and organise an annual school production.
Art
Students have recently completed a project with Whitechapel Gallery and Courtauld Gallery. A group of Year 9 students worked with House of Illustration, a team of professional artists and graphic designers, to bring characters from their English novel to life. Students are taken to art galleries, such as the National Gallery, further gaining from the school’s links within the arts.
Drama
Students are taken to local and West End theatre productions. Recently students have gone on trips to The Roundhouse to see Blood Brothers, Pleasance Theatre and Almeida Theatre. We have participated in the Shakespeare in Schools Festival and students have performed extracts from Othello and Richard III in Stratford-Upon-Avon and London.
Music
In Music, lessons are provided in the following instruments: clarinet, alto and tenor saxophone, percussion, electric, acoustic and bass guitar. We have a successful Junior and Senior choir, with the later having performed for leading international law firm Slaughter and May. We have links with the London Symphony Orchestra, with our Department Head Mr Wells being trained by an upcoming conductor. Students have also performed on the Barbican Centre’s stage, whom the school has a long-standing relationship with.
