Duke of Edinburgh

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a voluntary programme designed to provide students with an individual challenge to help them gain confidence, resilience and essential skills for their adult life.

The programme can be followed at three levels:

• Bronze (aged 14+, enrollment begins at the end of Year 9)
• Silver (aged 15+)
• Gold (aged 16+)

What you have to do?

To achieve an award, students must complete a personal programme of activities in four sections:

  • Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community or for a non-profit making organisation.
  • Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities
