The victorious Year 10s being awarded their trophy by actor and author Charlie Higson

In February the business department continued their five-year long reign in competition with other schools in Islington by winning the Young Consumer Award.

A team of four Year 10s – Josh Stepien, Imtiaz Uddin, Brandan Josiah and Mohamed Idris – entered the competition, which is organised by the Trading Standards Institute. As with the past four years, the group went to Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium to compete against other teams in answering questions about their awareness of consumer law, food and health, safety, credit and Europe.

The competition is open to teams of four 14-17 year-olds, meaning that the winning group were at the youngest end of the age bracket for the tournament.

By winning the Islington competition, the boys have earned Central Foundation a place in the London finals to be staged later on this year at London City Hall.
