The Key Project is an exciting opportunity for Year 9s to receive free tuition in a chosen subject, as well as in-school mentoring to support you on your journey to a top university as well as a range of enrichment opportunities including trips and potential work experience. It is hosted in partnership with The Access Project thanks to support from Slaughter and May, the multinational law firm.

Applications are open to all students in Year 9, although only 20 final places will be offered, and tutoring and mentoring will start at the beginning of Year 10. As it is a programme designed for those from backgrounds that are underrepresented at top UK universities, students that are eligible for Free School Meals and Pupil Premium will be given a degree of preferential treatment when considering their applications.

Please see the video below where Mr Moulding, our Key Project Coordinator, will explain in more detail what the Key Project can offer.

Please apply using the online form here: . The deadline for applications is Friday 12th June. If you have any questions please send Mr Moulding a message at

The School will be examining the following factors in considering applications. Year 9s do not need to meet all of these criteria, they are just used to guide the decision making:

• School attendance and homework completion

• Behaviour and a commitment to improve grades

• Quality of application form

• No prior history of higher education in immediate family (except for siblings)

• Free School Meal and/or Pupil Premium Eligibility

• Postcode in an area of low progression to university

• Currently in care or are a care leaver
