The Wilson Cup

Central Foundation works closely with 8 primary schools in the Islington borough. We deliver a varied programme which includes curriculum support and inter school competitions.

In December Central hosted the first ever primary school festival, where 6 schools attended to compete against each other at tag rugby. The schools were: Hugh Myddleton, Clerkenwell, Rotherfield, Canonbury, Hanover and Rotherfield.

All pupils had previously received coaching by Centrals sports coordinator and on the day, received additional coaching from young leaders who refereed and played a key role in the successful running of the tournament. All pupils received certificates and medals with Canonbury Primary School receiving the trophy as winners.

The primary schools receive curriculum support from the sports coordinator at Central Foundation each term, which is decided based on the individual needs of the school.

During the autumn term all schools received Tag Rugby coaching leading to a tournament style festival at Central Foundation Boys School. With the Olympics drawing closer, schools have opted for fitness based curriculum support in the spring term leading to more Olympic Style whole school themes during the summer term.
