Central Foundation’s Year 10 football team beat the elements as well as City of London Academy: Islington in a 4-0 victory on Monday 11th March.

The Islington and Camden Cup match was played amidst a strong wind in the first half with snowfall adding to the dogged conditions. The weather left both teams to struggle in the first half, with Central Foundation eking out a single goal going into the break but the half-time talk must have inspired the boys who came out with renewed vigour for the second half. With a two goal lead, a win looked likely but the team didn’t risk settling into a defensive focused game, putting another two more across the line to end on four goals.

Abdul Abdulahi and Jordan Spearman netted one goal each, with Mohammed Mohammed missing out on a hat-trick in the strong performance. The win set up a meeting with Haverstock in the next round, due to be played on Tuesday 26th March.
