FilmClub Q&A

FilmClub recently hosted a special Q&A session at Central Foundation Boys’ School with film producer Angus Aynsley, who produced British film Four Lions. The session followed a screening of his award winning film Waste Land, which follows artist Vik Muniz as he journeys to the world’s largest rubbish dump to meet the people living there. It has been described as “The Slumdog Millionaire of documentaries: an inspiring, deeply moving crowd pleaser” by the Huffington Post.

The Year 10 students invited to the event used the Q&A session to find out more about the film and the industry in general. The Academy Award nominated producer, who has been visiting schools across the country, was impressed with the selection of unique questions asked. He provided an insight into the long process of film making, mentioning all the steps involved. After discovering some of the students were interested in film production Angus urged them to pursue their ambitions against the odds, as he did himself.

FilmClub, aiming to transform young lives through film, takes place after school every Friday at Central Foundation Boys’ School.
