The Sixth Form were lucky enough to enjoy some live music earlier this month when upcoming band, “Clement Marfo & The Frontline” performed a live gig in the Sixth Form Assembly.

Whilst you may expect a six-man, one-woman band to create a seven-piece diplomatic nightmare, the band benefits from such a diverse range of sounds. Clement Marfo & The Frontline are based around a grime and hip-hop core which straddles genres at will as they season their music with pop hooks, sweet neo-soul vocals and a rush of energised rock dynamics. The band has been described by critics as “The sound of the city streets…the sound of a multi-cultural community uniting rather than dividing.”

Throughout the press, positivity, motivation and inspiration are the key buzz words being used to describe the band and with Sixth Formers getting geared up for exams over the next few weeks the messages made by the band’s music could not have been more relevant.

With lyrics such as,

“The drive and mentality of a Royal Marine

Take a good look at my face

I ain’t taking no break

The only spot I got my eyes set on is first place.”

Hopefully the Sixth Form will learn by example and find inspiration in Clement’s words as they find the motivation and aspiration to fulfil their potential in their AS and A2 Levels this year.
