Christmas at Wesley’s Chapel

December 12th, 2014

In what is fast becoming an annual tradition, Central Foundation’s Music School Choir performed at the City Carol Service of Wesley’s Chapel on Thursday.

Reverend Jennifer Potter led the service, which began with local primary school St Luke’s singing a Christmas carol followed by a contemporary pop song. After this, former head boy and current sixth former Derek Nightingale read from “The word made flesh” from the Book of John.

He was then joined by the rest of the choir who sang Ring Christmas Bells to the congregation. The service finished with a message from Superintendent Minister Leslie Griffiths, who thanked Central Foundation for their continued contribution to the chapel.

The service was attended by members of the public and also people from Inmarsat, a business that runs opposite Central Foundation. Last month, the school and Inmarsat co-produced an evening of entertainment that saw groups from both parties sing and perform music.

Both this event, and the City Carol Service helped raise money towards the school choir and its visit next year to Italy for a series of international performances.
