 The Central Cousine Team

After the success of student-run restaurant ‘The Globe’ last year, Hospitality Diploma pupils were given another opportunity to wine and dine guests in their very own food establishment, this time named ‘Central Cuisine’. This year’s group of Year 12 students were responsible for the restaurant’s concept and design, producing a menu and preparing and serving the food to the VIP guest list of selected school staff and parent governors.

After being greeted at reception and escorted to their seats, the guests were given a formal welcome by the team. They were then guided through the impressive menu and shown some excellent audio-visual marketing materials – a television advertisement and even a ‘Central Cuisine’ rap!

The lucky guests were treated to a delicious 3-course meal:

The Menu

  • Starter:

Spiced parsnip gougeres – Crispy golden parsnips with a soft and cheesy center

  • Main dish:

Chicken Korma and rice – Mouthwatering combination of creamy, succulent chicken pieces served on a bed of pilau rice

Wild Mushroom Risotto (veg) – Creamy Italian rice with wild mushrooms  

  •  Dessert:

Chocolate cheesecake – Rich, creamy and indulging chocolate dessert with a hint of crunch 

*Followed by homemade after dinner mints*

All the guests agreed to have had a fantastic time. The team was particularly praised for their attentiveness and the high quality of the food – glasses were quickly topped up and there was empty plates all round after each course (including second helpings!)

Well done to the Hospitality students for working so hard on the day and thank you to the members of staff who gave a helping hand. The combined effort produced not only an outstanding event but also some very happy customers!
