BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Hospitality
Hospitality is one of the largest industries in the UK. It has over two million employees and makes a significant contribution to the UK economy. It is a dynamic
industry that responds quickly to changing market needs, through rapid growth, innovation and diversity. This enables the hospitality industry to offer many different types of employment, with opportunities for you to work in this country and around the world.

This BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Hospitality course is ideal for students who would like to learn about the hospitality industry. It covers a wide range of topics to equip students with knowledge on customer service, the hospitality industry, the different methods of marketing used by businesses, what contributes towards a healthy lifestyle and planning, preparing and cooking dishes from Asian food to contemporary world food.

Students will then be able to put theory into practice through the practical element of the course that provides students with the opportunity to work in groups to plan and run their own hospitality events. This usually consists of opening a restaurant in school and preparing and cooking a three course meal for staff members. Students may also carry out another event offering staff Afternoon Tea with assortment of homemade cakes and various beverages. Also students will have the opportunity to go on trips to 5* MontCalm hotel to learn from industry experts.

Students will be taught by industry experts from 5* Montcalm Hotels. Students will also have the opportunity to carry out workplace visits and will be guaranteed a 2 week work experience placement. This will aid students to apply for various roles in the hospitality industry once they have finished the course.
