Update on Winter Concert 2021

December 14th, 2021

Thank you for reserving your tickets for the Winter Concert through our online Booking system. We appreciate that you may have booked two tickets for the night, but in light of recent Government guidelines, we would request that only one person attends the concert to reduce our numbers.

The performances will be recorded and posted on the School website.

You are welcome to cancel your online booking and to a partial/full refund if you have already paid for and picked up your tickets at the Reception. You can let us know by emailing or informing our Reception team.

If you are attending the Winter Concert on Thursday 16th December at 6pm, we request that you:

  • Take a free Lateral Flow test on the morning of the Concert.
  • Wear a face covering and follow the guidelines throughout the Concert.

We appreciate your understanding and wish you a restful and peaceful Christmas break.

The University of East London will be running a webinar that would be helpful for all of our Year 10 and 11 parents/carers and students who are considering their next steps after GCSEs. The session will look at the main qualifications and differences in these qualifications that one can move on to after GCESs. The event will also look at post-18 qualifications and how pre-18 choices can affect post-18 choices. We would encourage all of our parent/carers to join this webinar, with their student present.

Register for the event using this link, and a joining link will be sent to you via email: Register here

Disruption to phone lines

December 7th, 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are experiencing some technical issues with our phone lines.

Calls are still coming through but they can be disrupted. You can contact us at any point on email at .

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Our Safer Schools Police Officer, PC Hughes, gave a powerful talk to our KS5 students this week on abuse and violence against women. This talk is part of our whole school approach to ensure our students are equipped with the knowledge to identify and report harassment, abuse or violence. PC Hughes discussed the pertinence of this topic and gave a detailed and evidence-informed presentation on the definitions and types of abuse against women.

Founder’s Day 2021

December 1st, 2021

On the final Friday of November the school held its annual Founder’s Day – an event to celebrate the school’s founder, Reverend William Rogers, and the achievements of its students.

During the ceremony, the Chamber Orchestra performed the 1st movement from Johann Stamitz’s Sinfonia with members of the London Mozart Players.

Awards were presented to pupils across the school to recognise their hard work and achievement throughout the year. Pupils were awarded prizes for both attainment and progress in each subject. The highest overall achiever in attainment and progress were awarded for each Year group. After this, a series of special prizes were awarded for extra-curricular achievement and community involvement before the most senior awards were announced.

The Bendy Scholarship is awarded to the top performing A Level students who go on to study engineering at university. The Dr Beck Scholarship for exceptional progress was awarded to students in the lower school, upper school and sixth form.

Additional special prizes awarded were The John Boston Scholarship for exceptional attainment and The Montcalm Scholarship for achievement in vocational learning.
