On Friday 17th January, the BTEC Hospitality students in Year 10 were treated to a cooking master class by professional Chinese chef Jeremy Pang from the Ming-Ai Institute.

The workshop saw the boys split into teams of two and cook black bean chicken in oyster sauce, with the dishes being taste tested afterwards by Healthy Chinese Cuisine Ambassadors Aubrey Ko, Belinda Yip, Frannie Chen and Ben Fielden.

Before the cooking part of the afternoon, Chef Pang promoted healthy cooking with a quiz that saw the winning pupil receive a Chinese cookery book as the prize.

Pang also gave them some insider tips on how to properly use a wok while cooking.

The Ming-Ai Institute also gave all of the pupils who took part a recipe guide and some free oyster sauce to cook with at home.
